Product Details

Species: Carcharodontosaurus sp.

Age: Late Cretaceous (95 million years old)

Formation: Kem Kem Beds

Location: Taouz, Morocco

This is a real, 1.71" long Carcharodontosaurus dinosaur tooth from the famous Kem Kem Beds of Morocco. Its edges are still heavily serrated, and the specimen still has its tip.

The tip was naturally broken upon discovery, so it has been reattached to the tooth. One corner of the tooth near the root was also this way and had to be reattached.

Carcharodontosaurus is one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs, rivaling or even surpassing Tyrannosaurus rex in size! Some estimates suggest it reached lengths of up to 43 feet (13 meters) and weighed as much as 7–8 metric tons. It lived from about 100 million to 94 million years ago during the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous, roaming what is now northern Africa in lush riverine and wetland environments.
