This is a 7.63" wide cluster of fossil clams (Mercenaria permagna) from the world-famous Ruck's Pit quarry near Okeechobee, Florida. These clams are covered in calcite, and both have golden-yellow calcite crystals that are highly fluorescent under both short and long-wave UV. There is a clam on both sides of the matrix, but one has deep gold-yellow calcite crystals that have grown together.
