Product Details
This is an authentic piece of baltic amber with a fossil insect inside! The amber itself is 0.90" long. Unfortunately we do not know what type of insect it is.
A microscope is required to see any details.
Baltic amber is a fossilized tree resin primarily sourced from the Baltic region, dating back 30–50 million years to the Eocene epoch. It forms when resin exuded by ancient coniferous trees, such as pines, hardens and undergoes polymerization and oxidation over millions of years, often trapping plant debris or insects. Found along the Baltic Sea coasts, particularly in Poland, Lithuania, and Russia, it’s prized for its warm golden hues and clarity, making it a sought-after material for jewelry.
